mHUB Welcomes Jason Coleman as Executive Director to Lead Incubator Growth

(CHICAGO May 11, 2026) - mHUB, a leading independent hard tech innovation center, today announced Jason Coleman as Executive Director of its Chicago-based incubator. In this role, Coleman will lead mHUB’s incubator strategy, advancing programs, partnerships, and resources that help early-stage startups move from concept to commercialization.

Hard tech is at an inflection point as the U.S. doubles down on reindustrialization and companies look to engage with emerging technologies. Innovations that integrate software and hardware are accelerating to meet evolving market needs, and mHUB is seeing growing demand for membership and facility access from entrepreneurs building in energy, healthcare, manufacturing, sustainability, and more.

Jason will play a critical role in strengthening the organization’s ability to deliver hands-on technical resources, expert guidance, and pathways to capital for growing companies.

“This is a defining moment for mHUB as we continue to expand how we support hard tech founders from idea through scale,” said Haven Allen, CEO and co-founder of mHUB. “Jason brings a powerful combination of engineering expertise, scaling nonprofit reach and impact, and a commitment to building community. His leadership will further strengthen our incubator and the impact we deliver to entrepreneurs and the broader innovation ecosystem.”

Coleman is a mechanical engineer by training with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern California. He began his career at BAE Systems, where he designed and developed flight control systems for military and commercial aircraft. He later joined Motorola, contributing to the development of mechanical systems for next-generation mobile devices.

In 2008, Coleman co-founded Project SYNCERE, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing STEM education and empowering underrepresented communities through hands-on learning and engineering programs. He served as Executive Director and led the organization’s growth into a nationally recognized model for STEM engagement. Coleman also serves on the Advisory Board of the Chicago Children’s Museum and contributes to national efforts in engineering education through the National Academy of Engineering.

“I’m excited to join mHUB at a time when hard tech innovation is more important than ever,” said Jason Coleman, Executive Director, Incubator, mHUB. “mHUB has built a strong foundation supporting entrepreneurs and strengthening the manufacturing ecosystem. I look forward to working with the team and our partners to expand access to resources, support diverse founders, and help bring more breakthrough technologies to market.”

In his role, Coleman will oversee mHUB’s incubator programs, including access to prototyping labs, technical resources, mentorship, and community initiatives. He will also help shape new pathways for founders to scale, strengthening connections between startups, industry, and investors. The incubator is one of three core offerings at mHUB, alongside mHUB Ventures and its accelerator programs and Hardtech Development Services, the organization’s engineering and product consulting arm.
