Fundraising Readiness - From Risk Reduction to Capital Strategy

Raising capital is about more than securing funding. It's about understanding what your business needs to accomplish next, identifying the risks standing in the way, and determining which sources of capital are best suited to help you move forward. This workshop explores how founders can approach fundraising as a strategic decision tied to their company's development, rather than simply pursuing the next round of investment.

This workshop will help founders understand how different types of capital align with different stages of growth and why the timing and sequencing of funding matter. Participants will explore how investors evaluate risk, what technical, commercial, financial, and execution evidence demonstrates readiness, and how expectations change from pre-seed through later funding stages. The session will also examine how to connect business milestones to financial models, determine funding needs, and evaluate the cost of capital. Founders will consider the tradeoffs between debt and equity, including when borrowing may make sense and how financing decisions can affect ownership, flexibility, and future opportunities.

Who Should Attend

  • Early-stage founders developing a funding or capital strategy

  • Hardtech and deeptech startups preparing for future fundraising

  • Founders evaluating debt, equity, grants, or other financing options
