Exploring Nanotechnology - Discover UIC's Lab Capabilities and Startup Resources

Developing innovative technologies often requires specialized equipment, technical expertise, and research capabilities that can be difficult for early-stage startups to access. University research facilities can help bridge that gap, offering resources to support experimentation, prototyping, and product development. This session invites mHUB members to learn more about the University of Illinois Chicago's Nanotechnology Core Facility (NCF), its work, and the opportunities available to entrepreneurs and innovators.

During this informal information session, representatives from UIC will introduce the facility's capabilities, including its 3,000-square-foot cleanroom and specialized equipment supporting microfabrication, thin-film deposition, lithography, etching, materials characterization, and device development. Participants will also hear about current applications of nanotechnology, where the field is headed, and the potential implications for emerging technologies. The session will explore how startups can access NCF's resources through equipment training, independent facility use, technical guidance, and staff-supported services.

Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.

Who Should Attend
