The choices founders make about capital shape everything that follows. This session helps entrepreneurs treat financing and growth strategy as one decision, not two. Founders often default to venture equity, but the capital stack is far wider, including debt, venture debt, asset-based financing, mezzanine financing, grants, and equity.
The order in which founders access these forms of capital can lower their cost of capital while protecting ownership and control. Attendees will leave with a broader understanding of the capital available beyond traditional equity and how the timing and sequence of financing decisions can impact their business. Founders will learn to evaluate capital based on its true cost across dollars, control, and optionality—and make funding decisions that align with the type of company they ultimately want to build.
Who Should Attend
- Startup founders evaluating how to finance their businesses
- Hardware and capital-intensive ventures
- Founders preparing for an upcoming raise
- Entrepreneurs considering alternatives to traditional venture equity
- Founders looking to preserve ownership, control, and future financing options
- Business leaders thinking strategically about long-term growth and capital needs
